Casey Nicholaw
Nicholaw received the 2006 Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle nominations for his work on The Drowsy Chaperone and the 2005 Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle nominations for Best Choreography for Monty Python’s Spamalot, directed by Mike Nichols. Additional NY credits: for Encores!: the highly acclaimed production of Follies (direction/choreography), Bye Bye Birdie (choreography) and Can-Can (musical staging); for N.Y. Philharmonic: Candide starring Patti LuPone and Kristin Chenoweth; South Pacific at Carnegie Hall with Reba McIntyre and Brian Stokes Mitchell (also PBS “Great Performances”): Sinatra: His Voice. His World. His Way at Radio City Music Hall starring the world-famous Rockettes. Upcoming projects include Robin and the 7Hoods at the Old Globe this summer, and the new musicals Minsky’s and Elf.

Q: Where is the only place you go to escape the world?
A: Right now, Hawaii.
Q: What song do you remember most from your high school prom?
A: "Come Sail Away."
Q: What is your favorite dance step?
A: There's a step my friend and associate Darlene Wilson, who passed away of lung cancer three years ago, she would call it the Main Dennis, and it's where the girls step, step back and pop their knee.
Q: Which is best? Aquafina, Evian, or Poland Springs?
A: Poland Springs
Q: Favorite color in the rainbow?
A: Blue
Q: Whose dressing room would you go to for a great time?
A: I think Patrick Wetzel... because I've know him for years.
Q: Avatar or Hurt Locker... which should have won?
A: The Proposal!!!
Q: Favorite scent for a candle?
A: Oh, I would say something Christmas-y, like Gingerbread or Eggnog.
Q: Best show you ever saw?
A: Dreamgirls

A: Starbucks
Q: Wonderbread or Wonder bra?
A: Uhm... I'll go with wonderbread.

A: Neither

A: Blue
Q: What is the greatest meal you have ever had?
A: A restaurant called Arrows in Maine.
Q: American or imported beer?
A: Wine...no ...vodka.

A: West. I live there.
Q: Magnolia Bakery or Crumbs?
A: Magnolia.
Q: Paris, France, or Paris Hilton?
A: Paris, France. Did you enjoy making this list up?
Q: Absolutely! And, who would your arch nemesis be?
A: "The Liar" ...it's like "The Joker," but..."The Liar!"
Q: Which of your parents are you most like?
A: I think my mom. I think a combination of both actually.
Q: Where would your dream honeymoon vacation spot be?
A: Traveling in Europe - almost anywhere.
Q: All time greatest classic movie?
A: On the Town. Oh, and Michael (Feinstein) gave me one of the original posters for opening, and it's signed by Betty Garrett!
Q: Which generation/ series of Star Trek?
A: Star Wars.
Q: Car, bus, plane, train, boat, or rollerblades?
A: Car... I love driving (I'm from California.)
Q: Would you ever wear a murse (man purse)?
A: Ah! No! Never!!
Q: Gaga or Beyonce (or both)?
A: Beyonce
Q: iPhone or Blackberry?
A: I want an iPhone but I have a blackberry.
Q: The best natural wonder of the world?
A: Grand Canyon.
Q: Greatest country?
A: Italy
Q: Your heritage?
A: Greek! But I'm still saying Italy.
Q: Merman or Channing?
A: Merman!
Q: Are you a fan of New Jersey?
A: Yes... why do you ask ? I lived there for fifteen years, and I have a lake house there.
Q: Would you try to steal your caricature from Sardi's?
A: No, I would leave it there.
Q: What's your most favorite role you've ever performed?
A: Playing Horton in Seussical I was Kevin Chamberlain's understudy.
Q: Do you have a dream role?
A: It would probably be Harold Hill in the Music Man or Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors.
Q: Have you ever been nude on stage?
A: No, I'd never do it.
Q: Can you do splits?
A: No ...I can do banana splits though!
Q: Cartwheels?
A: Yes, I can do cartwheels.
Q: What is the highest note you can sing?
A: Well, it used to be a B flat. One of my favorite things is not having to warm up everyday anymore.
Q: Quick change of topic - So... How's the choreography?
A: What? Wait... in the show?! GREAT! IT'S FANTASTIC!
Q: Which of these lovely featured creatures do you like more in real life: dingos or koalas?
A: Koalas!
Q: How is it to see the Variety show format on the Broadway stage again?
A: It's a wonderful throw-back!
Q: Henry Miller's Theatre: awesome? Or not so much?
A: I really enjoyed working with this theatre a lot!
Q: Gershwin or Sondheim?
A: Both...I mean, how could you pick?
Q: Key changes or costume changes.
A: Key changes, definitely.
Q: Zippers or buttons? Feathers or sequins?
A: Zippers, sequins.
Q: Favorite instrument in a band?
A: I'll say the trumpet.
Q: If you had a superpower, what would it be?
A: Right now it would be to be invisible! On opening night I'm actually saying that, haha!
Q: Have you ever walked out of a show?
A: No... wait, were you going to ask me "what" if I said yes? Not a chance! Never walked out!!
